Chi Alpha Campus Minister In Training

Wow. If you would have told me 4 years ago that I would be working with Chi Alpha after I graduated, I would not have believed you. Well, I did not even know about Chi Alpha was 4 years ago, but it has been so influential in my spiritual formation the last 4 years. It is where I met the guys I lived with the last 3 years, and where i met most of my lifelong friends in college.

This summer I spent most of my time at home in Lynchburg raising a budget for this year. It was great to spend time with family and catch up with friends, family and church family that I had not seen in a while. My parents were nice enough to gift me my mom's car as part of a gradation present so that was a nice surprise to kick off the new internship.

The past few weeks have been filled with support raising, staff meetings, a Leadership retreat, and preparing for students arrival. It has been great getting to know the staff better and see just how much they care about the students and love their job. I am really looking forward to this year.

On top of all of that, I got to experience my 5th move in day at UVA yesterday which culminated in Chi Alpha's something in a mug party. After spending weeks planning for Chi Alpha events it was great to meet new students and see all of the work come together. I shared with several students the impact Chi Alpha has had on my life and I look forward to getting to know them better. Despite my uncertainty about this year, I am really excited to be here and look forward to what God has in store.
